ICRIS News

ICRIS Version 16.0.0 Release

The following changes have been made in release 16.0.0.

Included the ability to add new products and related formulas so that users can access new toners and auxiliary products without the need to upgrade to a new version of the software.
Resolved an issue that was, on occasion, causing a message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when searching for a formula or clicking on the formula search reset button.
Added support for the Dymo LabelWriter 550 label printer (read on for more information).
Added a new style mix label which contains more information and is easier to read (more information below).
Added the ability to print a formula to a "normal" printer rather than just a label printer.
Added the ability to delete closed stock orders in the stock management module.
The Prefill packaging for the VIM binder IME.PB500 was enabled for mixing.

Note that only versions higher than 15.12 are supported, so Sherwin-Williams strongly recommends upgrading to the latest version.

Update your ICRIS version to ensure you have the latest functionality.

Online ICRIS users can update their program by clicking on System > Application Update

New Best Practice Access in ICRIS 16.0.0

When opening a formulation that requires special application technique, you now need to highlight the Application Instructions form for Best Practice, then select Open. The content of the form remains the same.

New Label Format Setup in ICRIS 16.0.0

Two new larger, clearer and bolder label formats are offered: Detailed Label and Formula Label.

Detailed Label

The Detailed label will show you all formulation details on the single label.

If a field variant formula is being printed, ensure you manually note the Field number on the detailed label - Sherwin-Williams are looking into fixing this.

Formula Label

The Formula label option will print formulation details on two labels.

TIPS:

When printing formula labels, set your DYMO label size to 54x101mm as shown here.
If you do not check any of the three label option boxes, the label type will default to the old label style.
The UFI label (EU) includes the VOC information for overseas regulatory requirements: this does not apply to ANZ. You can leave this unchecked.

Printing Labels for Cross-Referenced Formulas

Note that when you print a formula label for a colour that is cross-referenced, ICRIS will ask if you wish to use the original colour code/name or the cross-referenced code/name details to appear on the printout.

For example:

GMH GAR cross-references to GM58-501Q
Open the field formula and select to print to label.
You will be prompted to put either the original GMH GAR code or the referenced GM 58-501Q code on the label.
Sherwin-Williams recommends you select the GM58-501Q colour code details and manually write which field letter is applicable.
If you select GMH GAR you will not see the field number at all, so the formula label may refer to any of the field variants A, B or C. Please ensure you manually note the field letter on the label if you select the GMH code.

This is applicable for all ICRIS versions.

DYMO LabelWriter 550

DYMO have discontinued the LabelWriter 450. When current stock is depleted, Sherwin-Williams warehouse will replace it with the LabelWriter 550. The LabelWriter 550 has a 20% faster print speed - from 51 labels/minute to 62 labels/minute. Detects when you are running low, have run out of labels, or have changed the label size.

For the LabelWriter 550 to function, you may only use authentic Dymo labels. To identify whether you have the correct/current label style, you will see DYMO printed in blue on the white card roll. These labels are now available for purchase from your local stationary warehouse with the following details:

Spectrophotometer News

Base Station

It's apparent that the delicate precision instrument, the 5-Angle spectro, is sometimes being returned for repair covered in paint and solvent spills, with overspray on the lenses and even having been dropped.

Sherwin-Williams' solution to keeping your spectro save and clean is to use the Base Station. The spectro can be safely stored in this flip-top, weighted storage station along with its calibration tile. Your spectro can also be plugged in and kept charged whilst in the Base Station. Panels Urgently Needed

Times have been particularly difficult during lockdown and panels are few and far between. Sherwin-Williams do not want their colour formulation accuracy to decline as a result of this, so they ask for your urgent help to collect cut-out panels for the following brands - any models - any colours:

Not as Simple as Black or White

Imagine being able to change the colour of your car from white to black and vice-versa. If it's a hot day: select white, cold day: select black. By altering your car colour, you alter your car's temperature resulting in using less energy wasted on heating and air conditioning.

The fluid colour changes are made possible by a specially developed body wrap that is tailored precisely to the contours of the all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle - a concept from BMW - the iX Flow. When stimulated by electrical signals, the electrophoretic technology brings different colour pigments to the surface, causing the body skin to take on the desired colour.

Consider this: If you parked your vehicle in a parking lot and cannot find it, make it flash black and white so it's easily located.
