Custom Cleared Table Top
The Story
This custom cleared table top was completed for Shaneel from CAL Isuzu for use as a desk top in their office.
The project was completed by Avnil Chandra from Linkup Hamilton in the training centre, and allowed the team to trial the Norski Epoxy Doming Resin, with the OECE range used for finishing off the clear to produce the beautiful final product.
The Process:
- Step 1: Prep
- Sand the wood surface to flatten the contour with Oslong P80 grit
- Step 2: Apply Norski Epoxy Doming Resin
- Fill all the cracks, knots, and other defects with Norski Epoxy Doming Resin
- Once cured (overnight), sand the overfilled resin with Oslong P80 grit
- Repeat the previous 2 steps
- Step 3: Prep after completion of Norski Epoxy Doming Resin application
- Sand with Oslong P240 grit
- Step 4: Spray application of OECE 230-0030 Polyurethane Clear Sealer
- Wipe clean the substrate
- Spray the OECE 230-0030 Polyurethane Clear Sealer to seal the wood (2 coats)
- Sand the sealer with Oslong P400 grit
- Step 5: Spray application of OECE 210-0037/10 Polyurethane Clear Top Coat 10% Gloss
- Wipe clean the substrate
- Spray the OECE 210-0037/10 Polyurethane Clear Top Coat 10% Gloss
