#9 - Binders Ratios
A feature of the VIM multi-leg system is the ability to change the binder to pigment ratio to allow for a stronger covering (more opaque) colour.
This is very handy when dealing with yellows, reds and oranges.
The normal default ratio for most colours is 80% binder to 20% pigment.
For a stronger covering colour make sure the 70/30 ratio is selected, this option is located just above the formulation on ICRIS.
TY518
When selecting a yellow colour formulation you may find the formulation for the colour is also available using the TY518 binder.
If a yellow has a TY518 formulation, that's a very good indicator the colour (when using normal binder) will be of a low opacity.
The smart move would be to select the TY518 formulation, opacity rates will dramatically increase creating a very good covering yellow topcoat.
