#21 - Greyshades
Primer/Ground Coat Shade Recommendations for Under Different Colours
Because modern automotive colours have more transparent qualities than ever before, to help achieve the illusion of coverage over repair panels it is important to use a GREY SHADE Primer/Groundcoat thas is most suited to the colour of the car itself.
Note: Because Greys are neutral shades they can create better coverage than coloured ground coats.
Using the correct Grey Shade will dramatically reduce the number of colour coats required to gain coverage over repairs. This can reduce paintshop costings in both time and product.
The moral of this story is don't use dark primers under light colours or colours that have low opacity etc.
Select the appropriate grey shade for the colour you are working with, if a colour does have low opacity then ICRIS will usually recommend the appropriate grey shade. Follow that prompt for colour accuracy and faster coverage.
