Wet on Wet (WOW) Primer

#26 - Wet on Wet (WOW) Primer

Do you want to speed up your Smash Repair process??

DeBeer Wet on Wet Primers

Maximizing profit in today's Smash Repair industry largely comes down to having efficient processes in place.

A sure-fire way to improve a better outcome is to employ a Wet on Wet (WOW) primer process (where applicable).

This can be done not only on new parts but also repaired panels.

DeBeer offer WOW options with many of their 2K Refinish Primers.

Wet on Wet Primer creates a strong bond with the underlying substrate, providing a flat, smooth uniform base foundation for the topcoat paint to adhere to.

1x coat of WOW primer will fill P400 sanding scratches and seal off any small rub-throughs (polyester “bog" rub throughs, small metal rub throughs, etc.).

Note: The coat of WOW primer applied must always be considered as the first coat of your topcoat application process, therefore it is crucial that the WOW is applied with a 1.3 -1.4 topcoat style spraygun, as these guns provide a finer atomization and smoother product laydown.

Typical WOW process:

  1. Initial repair primed.
  2. Repair sanded, blocked straight and finished in P400.
  3. 1x coat of WOW applied over repair (rubthroughs sealed).
  4. Basecoat / Clearcoat applied over WOW primer.
  5. Repair baked and cured.

Contact your local DeBeer Representative for more information of WOW products and process.
