#34 - DeBeer MM5091 Disorient Additive
MM 5091 is a flip additive which will alter the side flip of a metallic colour.
When to use?
If a metallic colour match looks accurate to the car on the “face view” but appears too dark on the “flip view” (or side view) you can adjust (brighten) the look of the flip with the addition of MM 5091.
5091 will alter the orientation of the flake slightly causing it to "stand up" in the binder resulting in a brighter reflectance of the colour on the side view, without affecting the face.
Note: you can only add a maximum of 5% MM5091 to the colour. If you add too much it will then also affect the face tone of the colour while also making one side tone too bright and the opposite side tone (flip) darker.
Always make your addition of 5091 in SMALL increments, e.g., 2% then check the colour.
