#4 - Valspar Industrial Mix AD600 High Build Additive

AD600 is a High Build Additive to convert the DTM (direct to metal) PU Topcoats TB510/TB511/TB512 and TB540/TB543 into high build coatings with excellent protective properties and a higher chemical resistance.
- Specially developed for Industrial OEM, Truck chassis and all over repainting.
- Ease of use enables fast operation - reducing costs.
When added to VIM DTM Topcoat Binders, the AD600 creates a much larger (thicker) dry film build.
This is of huge benefit over areas of bare steel substrate and blast profiles in order to ensure long lasting protection from the elements preventing things like “rash rusting” and corrosion.
You have the ability to add AD600 at various percentages, 20-30-40% (depending on the film build you are wanting to achieve)
e.g., a 20-30% addition of AD600 in e.g.TB510 can increase the dry film build (2 coats) to approx. 98 - 130 microns
Note: additions over 40% can result in a noticeable gloss loss in the final colour.
DBNZ have provided a calculator on their website to allow you to enter the total paint quantity required and the percentage of AD600 you want to add, and it will display the amount of AD600 to add to your mix in both volume and weight, and the amount of topcoat binder to mix (minus the AD600).
For further information refer to the product TDS or contact your local VIM Representative.
